Another reason why i,m doing this on LJ and not blogspot is because of the comment feature. Yes very useful.

I was walking home and i saw a beggar today.
He wasnt disabled. At least he didnt seem to be or his disabilites wasnt shown.
He was stretching his hand out begging for money.
I,m interested to know your take about beggars.
Looking from my viewpoint, i feel that anyone w/o a disability (senior citizens although healthy might have certain disabilities such as walking properly or getting tired easily) ok. so i feel that anyone w/o a disability SHOULD work for their money instead of beg.
Of course us students dont earn income but in the future. Yes we will.
That beggar. he could have been running simple errands. Or screwing on toothpaste caps (Yes. Republic poly has this stupid internship. Screwing on toothpaste caps. Retarded. I dont understand what you learn out of this. Cmon man a poly internship...)
Hell. He could even be trying to make money via gambling dens.
But no. He chose to sit down there and earn money from people's sympathy.
If he had an amputated leg, i could symphatize with him a little more. But even then, someone with no legs could still screw on toothpaste caps. Thus, my take on this is, if you have the funtionality to earn a living, you should go for it rather than beg.
You guys know of the blind guy who always hangs around orchard mrt underpass?
I respect that guy. Sure he's disabled but he doesnt sit and beg. At least he busks. His guitar playing is actually quite good. Usually you see him with his keyboard but sometimes he plays the guitar too.
That itself is a service to society. His disability although complicating matters does not stop him from earning money.
